II: signoff and problems
Linda is doing a final ground session with me for my neglected II training. We discuss how to give an IPC and how to teach IFR xc procedures. I don't have my 8710 from the MEI checkride in October, so we can't get the 8710 done for this ride (I mostly just copy the numbers from the last one). I'll fill it out this week, and then she'll sign it. But, she writes my logbook endorsements. Except she doesn't write them -- she has nifty stickers that just require her signature.

Anyway, I have a couple of dates for a phase check tentatively scheduled. I've talked to DE Iron Mike, and we're going to plan on doing the ride some weekday morning after Thanksgiving. Due to the ridiculous busy-ness of IFR Warrior this month, I strongly considered just reserving it every morning from 9am-12pm when it happens to be open. Then, I can cancel the appointments I won't use. But that would just exacerbate the busy-ness problem and make me a jerk. Later, when I checked the schedule again, someone else had actually done that -- scheduled it every single morning every single weekday all the way through December. That's what I get for trying to play nicely with others. I could just gag. I'm hoping that someone will be nice enough to let me bump them one of those days for my checkride. It's either that or wait until January, fly the Arrow instead of IFR Warrior (this option has its own set of head-explody problems), or see if DE Iron Mike is willing to do the checkride after 5pm in the dark. I hate this. The only winning move is not to play.
