ye olde pattern
We're going to stay at ANE today for pattern work. The wind is most favorable, and Student needs a lesson where wind isn't completely interfering. 27 is in use today -- that's the big runway. Tower keeps us on right traffic for noise abatement. It's harder to fly a right pattern, because the runway you're trying to fly around is on the opposite side of the airplane. It's just a little harder to see and manage your ground track. Student needs work on making nice square patterns, and by the end of the lesson, they look much better. Also, the 11 kt tailwind on downwind wants to carry the airplane far away from the runway. Student's landings are coming right along, and he makes one really beautiful landing on purpose. He knows what to do and how a good landing should look, so from here, it's going to mostly be about figuring out how to recreate that. Because every pattern and landing are slightly different.

The only excitement today is landing long on purpose because a Lear jet landed in front of us, and once we had to extend the downwind leg for landing traffic. It's nice when you can practice at ANE without nonstandard things happening.
