The skool is allowing part timers to work the desk again sometimes, and I was able to pick up a Thursday night shift. I've been told to take any work that comes in for myself. I don't think that's is a particularly fair system for distributing work among the large number of instructors who work here, so I intend to to take some work and dole out the rest the best I can. Providing that there is any work. It's a dreary IFR night, and the phone rings maybe twice. I'm hoping it will be better next week. It feels different working the desk now that I can pick up my own students. But other than that, not much has changed. It's fun to sit around here and gab for hours while drinking coffee, using a rogue wireless signal, working on instrument lesson plans, and getting paid. The crazy freight pilot taxis his Caravan past the skool at about fifty screaming knots like he does every night, and its landing light flashes when he spins around in the FBO parking lot. Something to look forward to.
