bored - no airplane
Parts of the skool's Arrow are distributed around lots of different engine shops at different airports. They're all supposed to be back in a couple of weeks, so the estimate is three weeks until the Arrow is up. I think that's way optimistic -- I'm guessing it will be well over a month to get the parts, put the engine together, and finish the prop overhaul.
In the meantime, I gave a lesson on lift to a friend who isn't into aviation. Her interest in airplanes doesn't go much farther than how useful they are to get somewhere cool. Well -- that, and looking up at airplanes passing overhead and hearing me estimate how much the pilots make. She's a scientitian, and she knows lots of math, so the lesson was pretty easy. I may inflict the power curve on her next.
